Prof. Dr. Mustafa Sözbilir
Mustafa Sözbilir completed his undergraduate education in 1994, graduate education in 1997 on chemistry teacher training at Atatürk University. He obtained his PhD in science education from University of York in United Kingdom in 2001. He does research on science education in general and chemistry education specifically and he teaches various courses on the subjects; research methods in education and science education. His research interests include international research trends in education, problem-based teaching, context-based teaching, curriculum evaluation and teaching science to visually impaired students. He works as a lecturer at Atatürk University, Kazım Karabekir Faculty of Education, Mathematics and Science Education Department and he also works as the director of Graduate School of Educational Sciences. Between 2008-2015 he was a member of IUPAC (International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry) Committee on Chemistry Education and he was the chair of the same committee for 2016-2017 period. He is a member of Turkish Chemical Society and Turkish Science Education Research Association.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adnan Küçükoğlu
Küçükoğlu completed his B.S., M.S. and PhD. degrees in the field of curriculum and instruction and he is currently a lecturer at the Department of Educational Sciences, Kazım Karabekir Faculty of Education, Ataturk University. His main research areas include curriculum development, teacher education programs, community service programs and graduate education processes. In addition to his academic studies, he actively participates in graduate education practices as the vice-director of graduate school of educational sciences since 2012. He is a member of Turkish Curriculum and Instruction Association.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sinan Koçyiğit
Koçyiğit obtained his B.S. degree in early childhood teacher education in 2003 and M.S. education in curriculum and instruction in 2007 from Atatürk University. He completed his PhD education in Marmara University in early childhood teaching education in 2011. His research areas are early childhood teaching education programs, parent education and involvement and math education in pre-school. He is a lecturer in Ataturk University, Kazım Karabekir Faculty of Education, Department of Early Childhood Teacher Education since 2011. He is a member of Association for the Development of Early Childhood Education in Turkey.
Prof. Dr. Refik Dilber
Refik Dilber was born in Erzurum in 1972. He graduated from Atatürk University, Department of Physics Education in 1997. After graduation, he worked as a physics teacher for a year and in 1999 he started to work at Atatürk University, Department of Physics Education as a research assistant. He obtained his M.S. degree in 2002 and PhD degree in 2006 from Atatürk University. Then, he was appointed as an assistant professor to Kazım Karabekir Faculty of Education, Department of Physics Education. He became an associate professor in 2011 and professor in 2016. For 3 months, he had conducted research in Czech Republic. His main areas of interest are misconceptions, active learning and peer education. His research continues in the same university.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Selçuk Karaman
Selçuk Karaman is a lecturer at Atatürk University, Kazım Karabekir Faculty of Education, Department of Computer and Instructional Technologies. His research areas include learning objects, teaching design, performance technologies and distance learning. He made research and practical works on the administration of distance learning environments and developing activities and materials for these environments. He took part in AtademiX, an important massive open online course (MOOC), after Turkey’s first object repository AtaNesA. He also worked as the director of Ataturk University Centre for Distance Learning and Dean of Faculty of Open University. He lectures on “Basic Statistics” at Education Faculty in face-to-face interaction with students in an online course.
Prof. Dr. Salih Çepni
Salih Çepni was born in Trabzon in 1963. He completed his primary school and secondary school in Trabzon. He graduated from Department of Physics Education, Karadeniz Technical University in 1986. After a year, in 1987, he started to work as a research assistant at KTU. He was assigned to further his studies abroad by The Council of Higher Education (YÖK) in 1988 where he studied for his master and doctorate programs. He received his master degree at New Brunswick University in 1990 and his doctorate degree at Southampton University in 1993 both degrees in the field of science education. He began to work as an assistant professor at Fatih Education Faculty, KTU in 1994. From 1997 to 1999, he was in charge of the YÖK-World Bank's National Education Development Project. He became a full professor in 2003.
Prof. Dr. Hakan Şevki Ayvacı
He was born in Kastamonu in 1968. He completed his elementary and high school education in Safranbolu, Karabük. In 1988, he got into Karadeniz Technical University, Fatih Faculty of Education Physics Education Department and he received his bachelor’s degree in 1992. In 1997, he was a research assistant in Fatih Faculty of Education and in 1999, he began to work as an instructor in the same faculty. He has been a professor since 2016. He is married and father of three children.
Doç. Dr. Emine ÇİL
She was born in Çanakkale in 1979. She completed her primary and elementary education in Çanakkale. In 2001, she graduated from Selçuk University, Science Education Department. She obtained her master’s degree from Muğla University and PhD from Karadeniz Technical University. During her graduate and doctorate education she worked as a science teacher at various public schools. After completing her PhD, she started to work as an assistant professor at Muğla Sıtkı Koçman University. In 2016 she became an associate professor. She continues her research on teaching methods, concept teaching, and the natüre of science and lectures on undergraduate and gradute levels.
Doç. Dr. Esra Altan Bozkurt
She graduated from Kocaeli University Science Education department and completed her graduate education at the same department in 2010. She completed her doctorate education at Gazi University in 2014. She is now a lecturer at sinop University and her main areas of expertise are STEM education, pre-service and in-service education of science teachers, and engineering design based science education. She carried out and contributed to various projects on these subjects and published articles in academic journals
Yrd. Doç. Dr. Miraç Aydın
He was born in Trabzon in 1981. After completed primary, secondary and high school in Trabzon, he graduated from Ondokuz Mayıs University, Physics Education Department of Amasya Education Faculty, in 2001. He received his masters and doctorate degrees in the field of Science Education at Karadeniz Technical University. Now, he is an instructor in Department of Elementary Science and Mathematics Education at Karadeniz Technical University. His academic interests include the integration of researcher education technologies into science classes, project based science teaching, educational robotic applications and computer based qualitative data analysis.
